 | Church Insurance
Careful consideration should be given to the valuation of the
property to be insured. In particular, older churches where
ornamentation, construction materials (stone, etc.) suggest that a
professional evaluation be completed to ensure proper values.
Here are some of the Commercial coverage highlights:
- Bylaws: Many jurisdictions require older structures to be
replaced with more modern construction materials for fire
protection.
- Most Commercial policies exclude coverage for stained-glass
and artefacts unless specifically scheduled.
- Accounts receivable, valuable papers and office equipment
(i.e., computers and media), as well as property in transit or
off the premises can be included.
- Crime can cover employee dishonesty insurance, including
volunteers. The liability requirements include:
a. coverage for church counselling and sexual abuse
b. tenants legal liability for occupant of residence
and other church owned dwellings
c. increased limits of insurance often up to
$10,000,000 are available
